Winter treatment

Varroa treatment with Oxalic Acid
Winter treatment is best carried out in mid to late December when the colony is broodless.
The treatment material is 3.2% oxalic acid in a 1:1 sugar solution. On a cold clear day apply 5ml of solution by the dribble method directly onto every ‘seam' of bees.
Always prepare a fresh mixture before treatment.
Caution: Oxalic acid is corrosive and poisonous, keep all materials out of reach of children and wear suitable protective clothing and eye protection when handling.
